Solar PV
Solar PV systems turn sunlight into electricity with the “PV” representing Photovoltaics which is a phenomenon of photochemistry and electrochemistry. The conversion happens through the semiconducting materials, ‘solar cells’ that exhibit the photovoltaic effect. Solar electricity panels, also known as photovoltaics (PV), capture energy from the sun and convert it into electricity.
In simpler terms..
Solar PV cells are produced from layers of semi-conducting material, usually silicon. When light shines on the material, electrons are knocked loose from the atoms, which creates a flow of electricity. While these cells don’t need direct sunlight to function, they perform better in sunshine. That means the brighter the sunshine, the more electricity is generated. Benefits of have a Solar PV system installed are;
• Cheaper Energy
• Reduce Carbon Footprint
• Get paid for any extra energy
